Huntsville Police Officer Shot Multiple Times, Suspect Killed

On October 12, 2023, at approximately 1:15 pm, Huntsville Police Officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon at the Timbers Apartments located at 141 IH 45. The initial report indicated that a male suspect was behaving erratically and brandishing a firearm in the parking lot between two buildings.

Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect entering an apartment. They made contact with the individual inside the apartment, leading to an exchange of gunfire. During the confrontation, one Huntsville Police Officer sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect was also shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured officer was transported to Conroe for medical treatment. As of now, the officer’s condition is reported as stable.

In accordance with standard procedures for officer-involved shootings, the Texas Rangers will be conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.

The Huntsville Police Department released a statement urging the community to keep the injured officer, his family, and the entire police department in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
