Houston Woman Charged with Murder in December Stabbing Death in Trinity/Houston Gardens
Jayla Brown

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police Department homicide detectives have arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young man that occurred late last year in the Trinity/Houston Gardens area.

Jayla Brown, 22, has been charged with murder in the 337th State District Court for the death of her boyfriend, Keylan Foreman, 21, police said.

The incident dates back to December 27, 2025, at approximately 11:55 p.m., when officers were called to a report of a male suffering from stab wounds near 8899 Eastex Freeway. When officers arrived, they found Foreman sitting in the backseat of a vehicle with multiple stab wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he remained hospitalized for several weeks before succumbing to his injuries on January 19, 2026.

According to HPD Homicide Detectives B. Stephens and A. Finlay, the initial investigation was handled by the department’s Major Assaults Division. Brown, who was present at the Eastex Freeway location and identified as the owner of the vehicle, told officers that she and Foreman had been involved in an altercation earlier in the evening in a parking lot at 8800 Lockwood Drive. Witnesses reported that Foreman was found lying on the ground bleeding following that confrontation.

Several days later, Brown voluntarily went to the Northeast Patrol Station and provided a written statement admitting she stabbed Foreman with a screwdriver during an argument, investigators said.

After Foreman’s death, HPD homicide detectives took over the case. Autopsy results determined that Foreman died from injuries consistent with the account provided by Brown. Based on the findings, Brown was arrested on Friday, January 30, and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
