Houston Woman Arrested After Confrontation with Deputy
HOUSTON, TX – A 41-year-old woman was arrested on October 4 after a confrontation with a Harris County deputy in Southeast Houston.
Deputy Ramirez was dispatched around 12:37 p.m. to the 1200 block of Bay Area Boulevard for a report of a suspicious person allegedly harassing tenants. When Deputy Ramirez made contact with the female, identified as Rebecca Font, she reportedly attempted to grab equipment from his vest and refused to comply with commands.
The deputy deployed his taser to subdue Font, who was then taken into custody. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges of criminal trespass and interfering with public duties. Font was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center with bonds set at $110 for each charge.
