Houston to Host Texas’ First-Ever Navy Fleet Week in November 2025

Mayor John Whitmire, joined by U.S. Navy Admiral Daryl Caudle, Commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, has announced that Houston will host the first-ever Fleet Week in Texas from November 5–12, 2025. The week-long event will take place at the Port of Houston in partnership with Houston First Corporation, Discovery Green, and additional city collaborators.
Fleet Week Houston will welcome over 1,000 sailors and Marines and three Navy vessels to the city. The event will feature hundreds of activities, including entertainment, educational programs, community service projects, and formal engagements between military leadership and local officials.
“At least 1,000 sailors and Marines will ‘flood the zone’ around your great city,” Admiral Caudle said during the announcement. “Our Navy looks forward to celebrating our 250th in Houston with you.”
The celebration coincides with the Navy and Marine Corps’ 250th anniversaries and will culminate with Houston’s annual Veterans Day events. Representatives from the Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and other branches of the armed forces are expected to attend.
“This is an honor for Houston,” Mayor Whitmire said. “Fleet Week will build on the positive relationships between the military and the community and allow Houstonians and all other visitors to learn more about the U.S. Navy’s proud history of courage and service to the country.”
Fleet Week is intended to connect the public with the U.S. Armed Forces, offering insight into military life while giving service members a chance to engage with the city’s cultural and historical offerings.
Houston’s maritime ties, including the strategic significance of the Houston Ship Channel, highlight the city’s relevance as host. Billions of dollars in trade pass through the port daily, with the Navy playing a critical role in protecting global sea routes.
