Houston Police Seek Public’s Help to Find Suspect in December Shooting

Houston police are asking for assistance in locating a suspect involved in the shooting of a man at 8118 Martin Luther King Boulevard around 6:55 p.m. on December 20, 2024.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with a thin build and a low haircut. He is known to ride a bicycle in the area. Surveillance photos taken a few days after the shooting have been released to the public.

Another suspect, Darius Michael White, 24, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident. White was taken into custody on December 31 on an unrelated charge and was subsequently charged after further investigation. A booking photo of White has also been released.

Incident Details

Houston police responded to an assault call at a convenience store on Martin Luther King Boulevard and found the 40-year-old victim lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital in stable condition.

Investigators determined that an altercation between the victim and the suspects escalated into a physical fight before one of the suspects shot the victim. Both suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

White was identified and arrested for his role in the incident, but the other suspect, believed to be the shooter, remains at large.
