Houston Police Seek Public’s Help in Fatal Shooting at Sweetwater Point Apartments in Greater Hobby Area

The Houston Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, December 20, at approximately 1 p.m. The incident took place at the Sweetwater Point Apartments located at 7909 South Sam Houston Parkway East in the Greater Hobby Area.

The person of interest has been identified as Damarrion Dorise, 21 years old.

The victim, a 24-year-old male, was found by HPD patrol officers responding to a shooting call. The victim had sustained at least one gunshot wound in a grassy area near the parking lot of the apartment complex. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators have determined that the victim and the suspect, Damarrion Dorise, were involved in a physical altercation inside an apartment. During the altercation, the suspect fired at least one shot, striking the victim. Subsequently, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Authorities believe that Dorise may have information crucial to the ongoing investigation and are urging him to come forward.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
