Houston Police Release Composite Sketch of Suspect in Fatal Shooting on IH45 in December
Sketch of wanted suspect

Homicide detectives from the Houston Police Department have unveiled a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a young woman and the injury of a man on December 10, 2023. The incident occurred at 1700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) around 1:05 a.m.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his mid-20s, sporting short dreadlock-style hair with blonde dye in certain areas. He was reportedly driving a newer model, black sedan.

The individual is wanted for his involvement in the killing of 17-year-old Louise Jean Wilson. HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the specified location and discovered a vehicle stopped on the freeway shoulder. Ms. Wilson was found unresponsive in the vehicle, and a male, also 17, had sustained gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Wilson deceased and transported the man to a local hospital, where he was treated and released for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Wilson, who was driving, attempted to avoid colliding with a braking vehicle ahead. In the process, she unintentionally swerved in front of a newer model, black or dark-colored, four-door sedan. The sedan, positioned to the left of Wilson’s vehicle, had an unknown suspect(s) firing shots from the passenger side window. Both Wilson and a male back seat passenger were struck, while a second male passenger in the vehicle remained unharmed.

At the initial report, the suspect was described only as a black male in his mid-20s.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. Alternatively, individuals can provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
