Houston Police Investigate Human Remains Found at Terry Street Home

Houston police are investigating human remains found at a home at 2814 Terry Street about 12:30 p.m. on October 29, days after a fire at the house. Detectives are waiting on autopsy results.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not yet verified the person’s identity, gender or cause of death, according to the Houston Police Department.

How the remains were found

The arson investigators then found what they believed were human remains. HPD homicide detectives went to the scene, and investigators with the Institute of Forensic Sciences confirmed the skeletal remains were human.

What investigators are still working to determine

Police have not said how the person died. The autopsy will determine the cause of death.

The Arson Division is also investigating what caused the fire.
