Houston Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing on Royal Palms Street

Houston Police are currently investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred at 5601 Royal Palms Street, which was reported at approximately 12:30 a.m. today.

The victim, a 49-year-old male, has not been officially identified pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to the report from HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and M. Casso, HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment located at the aforementioned address. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim unresponsive and lying on the floor of a bedroom. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and sadly pronounced the man deceased from an apparent stab wound, clarifying that it was not a gunshot wound.

Detectives are actively seeking to speak with the tenant of the apartment, described only as a black female. She is considered a person of interest in connection with this ongoing investigation.
