Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting and Injury at South Loop West

The Houston Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at 1415 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) around 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16.

Houston Police Officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a business at the specified location, where they discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Another male at the scene sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital. His injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is withholding the identity of the deceased victim pending notification to family members.

The suspect, described only as an unknown male wearing blue sweatpants and a black jacket, remains at large. As of now, investigators have not identified a motive for the shooting.
