Houston Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Beltway 8 Service Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5901 North Sam Houston Parkway East (Beltway 8) service road around 3 p.m. on Saturday (March 8).

The victim, a 34-year-old man, has yet to be identified pending family notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer D. Jones, a white Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling westbound on Beltway 8 when it collided with a gray Jeep Gladiator traveling northbound on Lee Road. The Dodge then spun out and struck a green Ford F250 pickup truck and a gray Chevrolet Malibu, both of which were stopped at the southbound traffic light on Lee Road.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. Two juvenile passengers in the Jeep, as well as the drivers of the Dodge and Chevrolet, were transported to area hospitals.

The investigation is ongoing, and the at-fault vehicle has not yet been determined.
