Houston Police Investigate Death of 78-year-old Bicyclist Found in Pecan Park Area

Houston police are currently investigating the death of a 78-year-old man following a potential bicycle crash that occurred on Sunday, October 22, around 9:15 p.m. The incident took place at 7800 Scanlock Street.

The identity of the deceased male has not been disclosed pending notification to his family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Authorities were alerted to the incident after responding to a report of a crash at the specified address. They discovered the victim lying on the ground next to his bicycle, suffering from a head injury.

Houston Fire Department paramedics swiftly transported the injured man to a nearby hospital. Tragically, on Monday, October 23, he was pronounced deceased.

At this time, no apparent damage has been found on the bicycle, and there are no known witnesses to the incident. Investigators are working to determine whether the man fell off the bicycle or if he was involved in a hit-and-run collision.

The investigation is continuing.
