Houston Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting in Magnolia Home

MAGNOLIA, Texas – A Houston man has been arrested and charged with murder following a late-night shooting that left a 25-year-old man dead inside a Magnolia residence, police said.
Officers with the Magnolia Police Department responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. to a home off Spur 149 after receiving a report of an assault involving a firearm. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim lying in the kitchen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police gathered information from individuals inside the residence and learned the suspect had fled through a back-room window shortly after the shooting. About 10 minutes later, officers located and detained the suspect in a backyard on the same street.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives with the Magnolia Police Department, assisted by the Texas Rangers and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, processed the scene and conducted an overnight investigation. Authorities determined the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two men who were known to each other, during which the suspect allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.
The suspect was identified as Nicholas Cuero of Houston. He was arrested and charged with murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
