Houston Man Charged With Intoxication Manslaughter After Fatal Bellaire Boulevard Crash

HOUSTON – A 34-year-old man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a crash on Bellaire Boulevard that killed his passenger Wednesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
Giovany Flores, 34, is charged in the 174th Criminal District Court in connection with the death of Kimberlee Martinez.
The crash happened about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 30 in the 7700 block of Bellaire Boulevard.
Houston police said a white Lexus RX-330 was traveling westbound on Bellaire when Flores, driving a silver Honda Accord, attempted to make a U-turn and failed to yield the right of way.
The Lexus struck the Honda.
Flores and Martinez, who was riding as a passenger in the Honda, were both taken to a Houston-area hospital. Martinez was pronounced dead at 10:53 p.m., according to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Investigators said Flores showed signs of intoxication following the crash. He was subsequently charged with intoxication manslaughter.
