Houston Man Charged With Capital Murder in 2025 Fatal Shooting Outside South Post Oak Business
HOUSTON, Texas – A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with a November 2025 shooting that left one man dead and a woman wounded outside a business in southwest Houston.
Arentheis Kendall Lee Winn is charged with capital murder in the 482nd Criminal District Court in the death of 29-year-old Markquez Mack, according to the Houston Police Department.
The shooting occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Nov. 28, 2025, in the 11100 block of South Post Oak Road in Houston’s Near Southwest area.
Houston police officers responded to reports of a shooting in a parking lot and found that a man and a woman had both suffered gunshot wounds.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital, where Mack was pronounced dead. The 30-year-old woman survived the shooting and is expected to recover.
According to homicide investigators, Mack and the woman were leaving a business when they were confronted by at least two unidentified men dressed in dark clothing.
Police said a brief verbal altercation occurred before Mack was shot. Investigators said both suspects continued firing as they fled the scene, striking the woman.
After several months of investigation, detectives identified Winn as one of the suspects in the shooting.
Winn was arrested in Galveston County on July 29 and was subsequently charged with capital murder.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not announced whether additional suspects have been identified or arrested.
