Houston Man Arrested in Stabbing Incident in Eastex/Jensen Convenience Store

Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday, October 19, at 9530 Jensen Drive around 2:45 a.m.

The suspect, identified as Ronald Wayne James, 59, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of James has been provided with this news release.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition following the attack but is now expected to survive his injuries.

Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to the incident, which took place in the 2800 block of Turner Street. During their response, they located and detained James without any further incident. Additionally, officers found the victim, who had sustained a stab wound to the abdomen. The Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the injured individual to the hospital for medical treatment.

Subsequent investigations and evidence gathered at the scene led law enforcement to identify Ronald Wayne James as the primary suspect in the stabbing. It was determined that the incident occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store (Jensen Food Mart) situated at 9530 Jensen Drive.

Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against Ronald Wayne James for his alleged role in the incident.
