Houston Man Arrested in League City on Two Felony Warrants After High-Speed Chase
William Koetting arrest

League City Police officers have arrested 35-year-old William Koetting of Houston on two felony warrants for Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle with Previous Convictions, with bonds totaling $225,000.

The arrest stemmed from an incident on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., when LCPD Officer Davis observed a red Chevy Camaro traveling northbound at a high speed in the 2900 block of S IH 45. Officer Davis pursued the Camaro and caught up to it as it approached Officer Richardson, who was traveling just ahead. Officer Davis recognized the Camaro as being involved in a previous pursuit with LCPD on April 6, 2024. Officer Richardson identified the driver as William Koetting, the same suspect from the earlier pursuit. At that time, Koetting had an active felony warrant for Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle with Previous Convictions, with a $25,000 bond.

Officers Davis and Richardson attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the Camaro, but Koetting increased his speed and led officers on another pursuit. The Camaro eventually gained distance from the officers, and they lost sight of it near IH 45 and FM 2351. The Houston Police Department was notified of the pursuit and began monitoring the area, but the Camaro was not located. Following the incident, Officer Davis issued an additional warrant for Koetting for Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle with Previous Convictions, this time with a $200,000 bond.

On August 25, 2024, at approximately 2:14 a.m., LCPD dispatch was contacted by HPD, who had stopped Koetting driving the Camaro as he pulled into his apartment complex in Houston. LCPD officers responded to the location and took Koetting into custody on the two felony warrants. The Camaro was towed back to League City for seizure processing.
