Houston Man Arrested After Ramming Vehicles, Fleeing Deputies near Lynchburg Ferry
Dana Allen Williams

On March 1, 2025, at approximately 12:05 p.m., the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office responded to a call regarding an aggressive driver near the Lynchburg Ferry at 4406 Independence Parkway. The caller reported that the suspect vehicle was ramming other vehicles to force its way onto the ferry.

Upon arrival, deputies were directed by the ferry captain to a maroon Ford Expedition. Deputies attempted to make contact with the driver, later identified as 50-year-old Dana Allen Williams of Houston, who refused verbal commands and tried to evade law enforcement by maneuvering his vehicle toward the ferry boat.

As deputies attempted to contain the vehicle, Williams reversed into a marked patrol unit before driving over deployed stop sticks. Despite multiple commands to stop, he drove onto the ferry, then reversed off, narrowly avoiding deputies and patrol vehicles before fleeing southbound on Independence Parkway with multiple flat tires.

A short pursuit ensued, and Williams’ vehicle became disabled due to extensive tire damage. The chase ended in the 3500 block of Independence Parkway, where Williams refused to surrender, revving his engine in an attempt to flee. His actions caused damage to the roadway as he spun his tires.

After repeated commands to exit the vehicle were ignored, deputies breached the vehicle and deployed a Taser before taking Williams into custody. La Porte EMS conducted a medical evaluation at the scene, and Williams was later transported to HCA Pasadena Hospital for further treatment.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded Taurus G2S 9mm handgun in the center console and a small plastic bag containing crack cocaine.

Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Williams was charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was booked into the Harris County Jail.

However, the charges against Williams were later dismissed by the 248th Harris County District Court early the next morning, citing “No Probable Cause.”
