House Fire on Mossyrock Ct. Ruled Accidental; Firefighter Injured
A house fire on the 3700 block of Mossyrock Ct. in Houston was reported early on July 9, 2024, at 2:08 a.m. The Houston Fire Department (HFD) responded to the blaze, finding the home engulfed in flames.
Firefighters launched an attack through the garage but faced worsening conditions as they pulled down the ceiling. One firefighter was treated on scene for overheating but did not require hospitalization. The fire, which began in the garage, quickly spread to the rest of the house.
HFD Arson investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, with a generator identified as the ignition source. The estimated damage to the property is $385,000, while approximately $99,000 worth of property was saved.
A total of 49 firefighters from Stations 15, 64, 102, 84, 103, 104, 105, 63, 101, 65, and 24 were involved in bringing the fire under control.
