Horizon City Man Jailed After Standoff, Assault on El Paso County Deputies

A 34-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly pointing a firearm at El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies who were attempting to serve civil process at a residence in Horizon City.
At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1st, deputies arrived at a home in the 300 block of Brill Circle. During the attempt to serve papers, the subject, identified as Rogelio Enriquez, reportedly pointed a firearm at the deputies. Authorities later confirmed that Enriquez also had an outstanding warrant from the Horizon Police Department for Aggravated Family Violence, with a $6,000 bond.
Deputies quickly secured the area, but after clearing the residence, it was determined that Enriquez had fled the location prior to their entry. The initial scene was cleared, and the investigation continued.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., Enriquez was located and arrested after barricading himself elsewhere. He now faces an additional charge of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant for pointing the firearm at a deputy, a charge carrying a $100,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
