Hit-and-Run Suspect Dies After Pursuit Ends in Crash on Galveston Seawall

La Marque, Texas – A driver wanted in a Harris County hit-and-run died late Tuesday night after leading La Marque Police on a pursuit that ended in a crash on the Galveston Seawall.

Around 10:30 p.m. on November 25, La Marque officers spotted a southbound vehicle on I-45 that had been confirmed as the suspect car in a hit-and-run investigation out of Harris County. When officers tried to pull the driver over, the vehicle refused to stop and continued toward Galveston.

The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed on the Seawall. The driver suffered fatal injuries from the wreck. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is handling the crash investigation.

La Marque Police noted that an internal review will be conducted, as is standard after any vehicle pursuit, to ensure all policies and procedures were followed.
