High-Speed Crash Propels Vehicle Over Bayou: Female Passenger Killed, Driver Investigated for Intoxication

Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) units are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the 5400 block of Killough Street, near the intersection of 249 and W Montgomery Rd.

The HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division investigators responded to the scene, where a harrowing collision unfolded. Preliminary information suggests that an adult male driver, accompanied by a female passenger, was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle reportedly catapulted over the bayou, collided with tail beds at a nearby company yard, and ultimately came to a halt in front of a residence.

Early indications from the scene suggest that the driver may have been intoxicated at the time of the incident. Emergency services transported the male driver to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The female passenger did not survive the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently ongoing.
