Harris County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Escaped Detainee

Update: Douglas has been captured.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is asking for the public’s help in locating Daniel Eugene Douglas, 22, who escaped custody on Thursday. Douglas, who was in the custody of Baytown Police Department officers, fled from the HCSO Joint Processing Center parking garage.

According to authorities, Douglas bolted as the vehicle door was opened. He managed to exit through an open bay door and escaped on foot. Deputies are actively searching for Douglas in the area.

HCSO advises the public not to approach Douglas if spotted. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
