Harris County Sheriff’s Office Mourns Loss of Deputy

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the passing of Deputy Christina Kohler, 37, who died on Thursday, March 13, in the 8600 block of Almeda Genoa Road. The Houston Police Department is investigating her death as an apparent suicide, with an autopsy underway to confirm the cause.
Deputy Kohler, who joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2018, was most recently assigned to the courts division. In response to her tragic loss, the Sheriff’s Office Behavioral Health Division is providing mental health and peer support services to help her colleagues cope with the grief. The Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest sympathies to Deputy Kohler’s family and appreciates the community’s prayers and support during this difficult time.
“Her name, her life, absolutely deserves to be remembered for her commitment to our profession. Prayers for her family and our brothers and sisters in Blue,” said Constable Mark Herman in a social media post.
Donations to Deputy Kohler’s family may be made via the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Benevolence Association.
