Harris County Precinct 2 Sergeant Killed in Off-Duty Bicycle Accident

The Harris County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office is mourning the loss of Sergeant Manuel Edwards, who died following an off-duty auto-pedestrian accident while riding his bicycle on the morning of June 3, 2025.
After the accident, Sergeant Edwards was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Sergeant Edwards began his law enforcement career in 2006 as a detention officer with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. In 2008, he joined the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office and transferred to Precinct 2 in May 2021. At Precinct 2, he was assigned to the Toll Road Division and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2023.
Known for his big personality and warm smile, Sergeant Edwards was deeply respected by colleagues and was often heard speaking proudly of his wife and children.
The Harris County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office expressed deep gratitude to law enforcement agencies and medical staff who supported them during this time, including personnel from Constable Precincts 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Bend County agencies, and the Houston Police Department, as well as Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Sergeant Edwards is remembered as a dedicated public servant and beloved family man. His passing is described by the department as a profound loss that will never be forgotten.
