Harris County Deputies Seek Suspects in July 2025 Fatal West Houston Shooting

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects responsible for the death of 35-year-old Jay Young Jung.
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, around 10:45 p.m., deputies responded to an “In-Progress, Life in Danger” call at My Bar, 5406 State Highway 6 N, in west Harris County. Officers found Jung unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Witnesses reported that the suspects fled northbound behind the strip center. Surveillance footage showed a vehicle stopping behind the center, where two males exited and discarded a rifle into a dumpster. The vehicle was later seen traveling eastbound on Timber Creek Place Lane and then northbound on Timber Creek Place Drive. Investigators believe at least two Hispanic males were involved in the shooting.
