Harris County Deputies Involved in Shooting at Cypress Restaurant, Suspect in Custody

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in a shooting outside the Creekwood Bar & Grill on the 12700 block of Telge Road in Cypress while responding to a call about a terroristic threat.

Major Earl Dean with the West Region Patrol provided details of the incident, which began at approximately 5:25 PM when deputies received the call. Upon arrival, they spoke with the caller, who stated that the suspect, described as an Asian male, had made threats against his daughter and showed pictures of firearms via a phone.

As deputies were speaking with the original caller, the suspect returned on-scene at the restaurant parking lot. Deputies approached his vehicle, issuing loud verbal commands for him to exit. The suspect attempted to flee, prompting one deputy to fire multiple shots at the vehicle.

The suspect’s vehicle crashed at an adjacent parking lot, and he fled on foot. Deputies pursued him and apprehended him approximately 100 feet away.

The suspect was not injured, and no deputies were harmed during the incident. Pending charges against the suspect include aggravated assault on a peace officer, evading arrest, and terroristic threat.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Division is investigating the actions of the deputy involved in discharging his firearm. The suspect’s name has not yet been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
