Harris County Deputies Detain Teen Suspects in Stolen Vehicle Case with Recovered Firearms

Harris County Precinct 2 Evening Shift Deputies responded to an alert of a stolen vehicle on Thursday evening in the Highland Meadow Village Drive area. Upon reaching an apartment complex parking lot, deputies safely detained two suspects who were attempting to walk away from the scene.

During the detainment, information emerged that one of the suspects had thrown a handgun into the backyard of a nearby residence. A subsequent search of the backyard led to the recovery of a .45 caliber handgun. Additionally, a search of the stolen vehicle revealed an AR-15 rifle and a .380 caliber handgun.

Further investigation revealed that the stolen vehicle had been taken in connection with an aggravated robbery in the State of Louisiana. The relevant information was shared with the Louisiana authorities for possible charges.

Locally, both suspects were charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. Notably, one suspect was 18 years old, while the second suspect was 14 years old.
