Over the Christmas holiday, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office took proactive measures to enhance law enforcement presence and curb impaired driving within Precinct 4 boundaries. The initiative aimed to minimize the occurrences of D.W.I related offenses and fatal crashes during the festive season.

During the initiative, Precinct 4 Deputies arrested a total of 12 suspected drunk drivers. The arrests were made following routine traffic stops, where the drivers exhibited signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were subsequently administered to confirm their impaired state.

Among those apprehended, Eric Beasley and Matthew Phillips faced charges for their third offense of Driving While Intoxicated, while Matthew Hull faced charges for his second offense. Shelley Fisher, previously out on a $5,000.00 bond for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a $50,000.00 bond for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and a $2,500.00 bond for Fraud, was also arrested.

Versal Steptoe faced charges of Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, and Logan Hartigan was charged with Fail to Stop and Give Information, as well as Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.

All suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail, facing charges of Driving While Intoxicated along with the additional charges as mentioned above.

Constable Mark Herman emphasized the zero-tolerance policy for drunk driving within Precinct 4, stating, “Drink and driving is not tolerated in Precinct 4. If you choose to drink and drive, you choose to go to jail.”
