Gunfire Erupts During Pearland Apartment Standoff; SWAT Responds

On Sunday, December 1, 2024, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Pearland Police responded to reports of bullet holes in the door of an apartment at 2701 Old Alvin Road, in the 300 Building. A concerned citizen had noticed the damage and alerted authorities.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined the bullet holes had originated from inside the apartment. As officers approached the door using a ballistic shield for protection, they were met with gunfire from within. At least one round struck the shield, but no officers were injured.

The male suspect has since barricaded himself inside the apartment. SWAT units have taken control of the scene, and the situation remains an active law enforcement operation.

The Pearland Police Department has urged the public to avoid the area while officers work to safely resolve the incident. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
