Georgetown Teen Arrested in Round Rock Drive-By Shooting

ROUND ROCK, Texas – A 17-year-old Georgetown teen is in custody after a drive-by shooting earlier this month sent gunfire into a Round Rock neighborhood, authorities said.

On Friday, January 16, Joseph Benjamin Alvarado, 17, was arrested and charged with Deadly Conduct – Discharge of a Firearm, a third-degree felony. Investigators with the Round Rock Police Department say Alvarado fired multiple rounds at a residence in the 1400 block of Meadows Drive on the night of January 7th.

During the investigation, officers determined that bullets struck both a home and a vehicle parked in the driveway. No injuries were reported.

Alvarado was located and apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and booked into the Williamson County Jail.

Round Rock police credited assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office in the arrest.
