Galveston Police Investigate Saturday Night Shooting on 45th Street; Suspect at Large

Galveston police are searching for a suspect who fired multiple shots at a moving vehicle on Saturday night, June 7, 2025, on 45th Street.
Officers were called to the 4400 block of Avenue M at approximately 8:40 p.m. in reference to an aggravated assault. The victim reported that they were leaving the beach at 45th and Seawall when they observed a dark-colored sedan driving erratically. The victim also witnessed the sedan stop at a light, and several women exited the vehicle.
The victim continued driving north on 45th Street, with the sedan closely following. The driver of the sedan then passed the victim in the shoulder and began firing multiple rounds at the victim’s vehicle. The victim quickly turned onto a side street and contacted the police.
When officers arrived, they found the victim’s vehicle had several bullet holes consistent with the reported incident. Officers also located shell casings and bullet fragments on the east side of 45th Street in the 1300 block.
Police are looking for a suspect described as a mixed-ethnicity male in his 20s, believed to be the driver of the dark-colored sedan.
