Galveston Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges Following Joint Task Force Operation

Marcus Guess Jr., 25, was arrested on Tuesday, April 29th, after the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division – Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, executed a search warrant in the 7000 Block of Yucca Drive in Galveston.

The investigation was initiated following a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). During the search, investigators seized electronic devices and a small amount of narcotics.

As a result, Marcus Guess Jr. was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography (50 or more depictions or videos) and Possession of Child Pornography (child younger than 10 years of age). His total bond was set at $135,000. Charges related to the narcotics are pending.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force, which includes participants from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) – Galveston, Pearland Police Department, La Porte Police Department, Texas City Police Department, Hitchcock Police Department, Galveston Police Department, and Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office also recognized the assistance of their SWAT, Crime Scene Unit, and Crime Reduction Unit.
