Galveston County Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Fentanyl Overdose
Sean Stillman

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 50-year-old man with murder following an investigation into a fatal overdose in Bacliff earlier this year.

Deputies responded to a home on April 23, 2025, where they found 30-year-old Jasmine Morgan unresponsive. She was taken to HCA Clear Lake Hospital but died the next day, April 24.

Detectives later determined that Morgan had been given methamphetamine by Sean Stillman. An autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office found that she died from acute toxicity caused by the combined effects of fentanyl.

Based on the evidence gathered, investigators secured a murder charge against Stillman on December 8, 2025. His bond was denied. At the time the charge was filed, Stillman was already in custody on a separate charge of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to holding drug suppliers accountable and seeking justice for overdose victims and their families.
