Galveston County Man Arrested Following Violent Assault in Kemah

On November 17, 2025, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Lazy Lane in Kemah, Texas. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported via life flight to a nearby hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit quickly launched an investigation, identifying 39-year-old Cody Lynn as the suspect. An arrest warrant was filed for Lynn on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, with bond set at $200,000.

On November 18, 2025, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, assisted by the Organized Crime Task Force and the Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search and arrest warrant at Lynn’s residence, the location of the assault. Lynn was taken into custody without incident. During the operation, 75-year-old Timothy O’Brien was also arrested at the residence on a separate felony warrant out of Harris County for DWI 3rd or more.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that violent acts of this nature will not be tolerated in Galveston County and reaffirmed its commitment to holding offenders accountable.
