Fugitive Arrested in Splendora for Huntsville Murder

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT operators, serving as Task Force Officers with the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, alongside deputies from the East Command Hot Spot Unit, arrested wanted fugitive Roberto Santos Portillo.
Portillo, 45, was taken into custody near the 14600 block of Half Circle in Splendora, Texas, without incident. He was wanted on a felony warrant out of Walker County for murder. Portillo was transported to Walker County to face charges.
The arrest is linked to a homicide in Huntsville. On Sunday, November 9th, officers responded to a suspicious incident at a home in the 200 block of Blalock Street. Upon entering the residence, deputies discovered signs of a disturbance both inside and around the property. A body was found nearby in a wooded area with multiple stab wounds.
