Four Teen Suspects Arrested in Montgomery County Church Burglary

On March 5, 2024, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office East Precinct Patrol Division responded to a call regarding a Burglary in Progress at Firetower Baptist Church. Witnesses reported seeing individuals breaking into the church. Upon arrival, deputies located the suspects at a gas station on FM 1485 and Gene Campbell Road. Multiple MCSO units swiftly converged on the scene and detained all suspects.

East Precinct Detectives launched an investigation, initially finding stolen items from the church and marijuana inside the suspects’ vehicle.

Kentrell Daughtry (18), Damon Craft (19), Darrien Hopkins (19), and Tarrance Griffin (18), all from Houston, were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. Craft and Hopkins faced charges of Burglary of a Building and Possession of Marijuana. Daughtry and Griffin were charged with Possession of Marijuana. Additionally, Hopkins had an active felony theft warrant from Harris County at the time of his arrest.

Sheriff Rand Henderson commended the deputies and detectives for their prompt actions in locating and apprehending the suspects, emphasizing the office’s dedication to community safety.
