Four Arrested in Baytown Storage Facility Burglary; Stolen Goods Recovered

Baytown Police Department has arrested four suspects in connection with a burglary at a commercial storage facility on Decker Drive. The suspects include 44-year-old Reginald Jones of New Caney, 42-year-old Crystal Hal of Houston, 44-year-old Tara Hal of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 41-year-old Leroy Jackson of Houston. Jones and Jackson were charged with Felony Burglary of a Building, Tara Hal with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felony Burglary of a Building, and Crystal Hal was charged with Failure to Identify – Fugitive.

On October 24, 2024, officers responded to a reported burglary at a storage building on the 4500 block of Decker Drive. Investigation revealed that around 6:00 a.m., individuals in a stolen U-Haul truck broke into multiple storage units. Using the Flock License Plate Reader (LPR) system, officers located the stolen U-Haul at a hotel on Garth Road near I-10. Over $100,000 in stolen property was recovered, including three Ford F-250 U-Haul trucks, electronics, tools, clothing, and appliances.

Chief of Police John Stringer praised the officers’ efforts, stating, “The resolution of this case highlights the exceptional collaboration and dedication of our officers. Their outstanding police work led to the recovery of stolen property and the apprehension of those responsible in just a few days. We will not tolerate this type of crime in Baytown. Ensuring the safety and security of life and property in our community is our top priority.”
