Former Teacher Re-Arrested on New Sexual Assault of a Child Charges in Mont Belvieu

Molly Colleen Spears, 35, a former Barbers Hill High School teacher, has been re-arrested on new charges of sexual assault of a child, stemming from incidents in 2022 and 2023.
In February 2025, the Chambers County District Attorney’s Office requested the Mont Belvieu Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID) to investigate new evidence of possible sexual assault of a child, related to a previous 2023 investigation of an improper relationship between an educator and student conducted by Barbers Hill ISD Police Department.
Mont Belvieu PD Detectives, in conjunction with Chambers County DA’s Office Investigators, conducted further investigations and interviews. On Wednesday, February 26th, Mont Belvieu PD Detectives obtained two felony arrest warrants for Spears, each charging Sexual Assault of a Child. Each warrant carried a $100,000 bond.
Spears was arrested without incident early Thursday morning and booked into the Chambers County Jail.
The Chambers County District Attorney and Mont Belvieu Police Chief expressed appreciation for the inter-agency collaboration in the investigation.
Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation and the age of the victim, no further information is being released at this time.
