Fiery Head-On Collision on FM 1960 Claims One Life, Injures Two

One person was killed and two others sustained minor injuries in a fiery three-vehicle collision on FM 1960 Road East on Sunday, June 15, 2025, around 7:00 PM. The crash, which involved a Chevrolet Corvette, a black Lexus IS 250, and a black Cadillac XT5, is currently under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.

According to preliminary reports, a Chevrolet Corvette was traveling westbound in the 12800 block of FM 1960 Rd E, attempting to pass traffic by crossing into the eastbound lanes. As it crossed back into the westbound lane, the Corvette possibly hydroplaned on standing water, causing it to rotate counterclockwise into the eastbound lanes, now facing east.

The black Lexus IS 250, traveling eastbound, then struck the rear of the Corvette with its front end. This impact caused the Lexus to also rotate counterclockwise and have a secondary collision with the Corvette. A black Cadillac XT5, traveling behind the Lexus, attempted to avoid the collision by swerving left but struck the Lexus’s front right side with its front right side before coming to an uncontrolled rest.

The Corvette subsequently slid into a ditch, coming to an uncontrolled rest and catching fire. Responding medics found the driver of the Corvette with no signs of life, and the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The two occupants of the Lexus were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. They displayed no signs of intoxication and cooperated with the investigation. The driver of the Cadillac was treated by paramedics on scene and released, also showing no signs of intoxication and cooperating with authorities.
