Father in Critical Condition After Shooting; Son Arrested Following Pursuit in Harris County

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez provided an update on the January 25, 2025, shooting incident involving a father and son in the 10200 block of Heather Hill in the Northwest Park area in Houston.

The father, 45, remains hospitalized in critical condition. The alleged shooter, identified as 21-year-old Adrian Duany Alvarez, has been arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault.

According to preliminary information, the incident began when Adrian asked his father for money, and the father refused. Adrian then reportedly stole his father’s phone, leading to an argument. During the altercation, Adrian allegedly retrieved a pistol and shot his father.

After the shooting, Adrian reportedly fired at another relative, who managed to escape unharmed. Adrian then stole a relative’s vehicle at gunpoint and fled the scene. Deputies provided life-saving measures to the wounded father upon their arrival.

Later, Adrian was located driving the stolen vehicle. A police pursuit ensued, involving deputies and the Conroe Police Department. The chase ended when Adrian was stopped and taken into custody.

Adrian is currently booked in the Harris County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
