Fatal Shooting in Downtown Houston Investigated as Possible Road Rage Incident
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect responsible for a fatal shooting that occurred in downtown Houston on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department. The incident, believed to be a result of road rage, unfolded on the Pierce Elevated at Louisiana Street around 1 a.m.
Upon responding to the dispatch, Houston police officers discovered a vehicle with gunshot damage in the southbound lanes. Tragically, the female driver was found shot and killed at the scene, while another man sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital. A third occupant in the vehicle emerged unharmed.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the altercation may have originated when the female driver inadvertently cut off the suspected shooter in another vehicle, escalating into the fatal shooting.
Law enforcement officials are currently in the early stages of their inquiry, with limited available information. They are actively seeking a black four-door sedan in connection to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
