Fatal Shooting Erupts at East Austin Party, Claims Life of 17-year-old

On the night of Saturday, November 25, 2023, at approximately 10:09 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to reports of a shooting at the 2500 block of Sol Wilson Avenue in East Austin. Officers arriving at the scene discovered two male victims with multiple gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was identified as 17-year-old Patrick Valadez. Valadez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently hospitalized in stable condition.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Specialists arrived to process the scene. Through the course of their investigation, it was revealed that the incident occurred during a party, where the alleged suspect had made an appearance. Following a request for the suspect to leave, a confrontation unfolded in front of the residence, resulting in both victims being struck by gunfire.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle immediately after the shooting.
