Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Northwest Freeway in Houston Leaves One Dead
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on the Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) around 2:40 a.m. on Monday, November 25.
A 46-year-old male, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was operating a green Ninja ZX Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he attempted to pass a tan Chrysler 300. The motorcycle collided with the Chrysler, causing the rider to lose control, lay the motorcycle down, and fall off.
As the victim lay on the freeway, he was struck by a red Nissan Altima. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
Both the Chrysler and Nissan drivers remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication. They were questioned and released without injury.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
