Houston police are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning at 9012 Clinton Street around 1:30 a.m. The incident resulted in the death of a 48-year-old man and left a 29-year-old man wounded.
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The incident unfolded when officers responded to a reported crash on Clinton Street. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a black Mercedes sedan had crashed into a ditch.
The driver of the vehicle had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 29-year-old male, also suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital, where he is currently reported to be in stable condition.
As the investigation progresses, the suspects have only been identified as two unknown black males who fled the scene in an unknown direction.
