Fatal Hit-and-Run Claims Life of Houston Cyclist

James Midkiff, 36, succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident that occurred on November 19 at approximately 9:10 p.m. The incident took place at 1600 Houston Avenue near Downtown Houston.

Mr. Midkiff was riding his bicycle southbound near a railway intersection when a white sedan struck him from behind. The driver of the sedan failed to stop and provide assistance, fleeing the scene in a southbound direction on Houston Avenue, heading towards the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45).

Paramedics transported Midkiff to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in critical condition. On November 22, medical professionals pronounced him deceased.

At this time, there is no known information on the suspect driver or make of the wanted vehicle.
