Fatal Crash in Harris County After Police Pursuit, Two Confirmed Dead

Two individuals have lost their lives following a police pursuit that culminated in a tragic crash on Friday afternoon. Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman confirmed that both the suspect being pursued and an innocent woman driver met their demise in the incident on Hardy Toll Road.

The incident unfolded around 2:46 p.m. when constable deputies initiated a pursuit of a suspect in a stolen vehicle. The chase, originating in the 1600 block of Louette Road, progressed eastbound towards FM 1960 and the Hardy Toll Road. Despite a flat tire, the suspect continued to evade law enforcement, ultimately driving against traffic on the northbound lanes of the toll road.

The pursuit concluded at 18000 Hardy Toll Road and Rankin, where the suspect lost control and collided with a woman driving in the area. The woman was transported to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the two fatalities, another individual in a separate vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash. Constable Herman disclosed that the suspect’s identity remains unconfirmed due to the possession of multiple identification cards. Investigations are ongoing to determine the true identity of the deceased suspect.
