Elderly Driver Succumbs to Injuries After San Felipe Street Crash in West Houston
Donald Callahan, 76, the man critically injured in a crash on November 28 at 7887 San Felipe Street, has succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Mr. Callahan was operating a white Ford transit van, traveling eastbound on San Felipe Street, when he failed to maintain a single lane. The van collided with the concrete curb alongside the roadway, veering over a grassy area before ultimately striking the brick pillar of a building at the mentioned address.
Emergency responders swiftly transported Callahan to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, doctors pronounced him deceased on December 5.
Investigators are attributing the crash to a suspected medical episode experienced by Mr. Callahan while behind the wheel.
