El Paso Registered Sex Offender Arrested for Aggravated Kidnapping and Assault
Lorenzo Davila

EL PASO COUNTY, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Lorenzo Meraz Davila Jr., 68, a registered sex offender, on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping with Sexual Abuse following a report of abduction and assault. Davila was convicted in 2015 for sexually assaulting a 45-year-old woman and as part of the sentence was requested to register annually as a sex offender in Texas.

The investigation began on July 23, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., when deputies responded to a call on Cousins Drive. They spoke with an adult female victim who reported that she had been abducted by Davila and taken to his residence in an unknown desert location in the Horizon area without her consent. While there, she was assaulted after she refused his sexual advances. The victim was able to escape and was brought home by a passerby.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division identified Davila as the suspect and confirmed he was a registered sex offender with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. A warrant for his arrest was issued with an initial bond of $100,000.

On August 3, 2025, deputies located Davila near a relative’s residence in the 13000 block of Grand River. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, where his bond was increased to $220,000.
