El Paso Man Arrested for DWI and Cocaine Possession After Speeding at 98 MPH

On December 31, 2024, officers from the El Paso Police Department’s DWI Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a Volvo traveling at high speed on the 6400 block of N. Mesa. The vehicle was recorded driving at 98 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers determined the driver, 35-year-old Jorge Mariano Polo-Hernandez of West El Paso, was intoxicated. A further investigation revealed that Polo-Hernandez was also in possession of cocaine.
Polo-Hernandez was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he faces charges for DWI and possession of a controlled substance.
